    July Friday - Monday SAL

Here's my progress on David - a bit late. It's hard to make out what it is, but it's the top of his thigh. His knee will soon be showing and hopefully that will bring things into focus!

Wendy, you have made some good progress since the last time I looked. Sorry to have gone missing but I’ve had some major life changing events and I’ll just leave it at that.

I hope you are having a good summer! I will get back to sharing but not this weekend. Hopefully the weekend after that. Have a great week!

Welcome back, Lucette, and thank you for your kind comment! It's great to have you back again - hope all is well. I'll look forward to your progress on whichever piece you have been working on. When the time comes for you to post photos, let us know. The site has been mis-behaving and Debbie has found a way to post them properly.

Here's my progress on David. I decided to go to the right rather than down.

Thanks, it’s nice to be back. All will be well with time. I haven’t been doing as much stitching as I would like but I am starting to do more now. I am working on my Van Gogh’s Cafe Terrace at Night.

Looks like you got a lot done! You must be more then halfway done right?

It's great to hear from you again, Chris - it's just like a family reunion, with you and Lucette both back! Have a fabulous trip, and give my best to the wedding couple! All the best with Aubrey - she should do fine with the other eight of you to distract her. Does this mean that now that you have a PC you will also be stitching again when you return home??

Thank you Lucette! Yes, I'm now on row six of ten rows of pages.

Hi everyone! Sorry I dropped off again. I kept coming on and trying to upload, but I was having some computer issues and things just were not wanting to work after whatever happened there with the site. I still can't use my own new laptop, but I am sure I am doing something wrong with it. It is a Mac and I have the occasional hiccup with it. Please forgive me that half the photos are upside down when uploaded. My phone and computer all say they are the same way in the original files and my normal trick of rotating it 90 degrees on the computer, saving it, then rotating it back, then saving again is not working. This is a new work laptop too so I am working out the kinks on it as well.

My map and I did have a few good sessions since you last saw it. It has been rain rain rain here in my part of BC which is great for fire risk and cross stitching. Not so good for trying to go out and work on my yard though. If finished the bottom and rolled up to work on the top half now. The top half is not quite as deep as the bottom and is easier overall. Then some beads and a lot of backstitching.

I go next week to talk to a specialist to see about getting my gall bladder out. I have been having issues for a couple of years and they know I have polyps and gall stones so my family doctor wants it gone almost as much as I do. If the specialist does decide to do it looking at the government stats on him 50% of patients have their surgery in 4.1 weeks and 90% within 4.2 weeks... We are taking bets that if he says yes it will be taken out on Aug 29 because that is my birthday. My sister thinks it is hilarious as the same surgeon took hers out a couple of years ago just before Easter (her favorite holiday) and her birthday was 2 weeks after that. And he did a major bowel surgery on our Grandma around her birthday. It would be a great present to have these issues resolved though so I am game.

Welcome back to you also, Tamara!! You have made wonderful progress on your map and it's looking lovely! When you have your surgery you'll have loads of stitching time, taking things easy and no heavy work. How long will you have to be off work - six weeks?

FYI, Debbie has learned that when posting photos we should click the 'Go Advanced' button, type our message, and use the 'Manage Attachments' feature to upload the photos. This seems to eliminate the big photos from the post and just leave the thumbnails like it was before the problem developed.

Are you working on your Magic Potion at all, or just the map? I'm missing it!!
