    2159 - Elizabeth the Austrian

Hello all! Long time reader, first time poster. I spent a good while reading threads in here when I was deciding which pattern to buy and have been meaning to start my own thread for ages, especially as I haven't seen anybody doing this pattern.

It's stitched on 35 count Floba which is a 30/70 Linen/Polyester mix. I've never stitched on Linen before and was envisioning something similar to a pair of Linen trousers, but this survives being an occasional cat bed very nicely and feels much nicer than the fabric ratio suggests.

As you can probably guess from my choice of colour, that black background is not getting stitched (I didn't want to sew on black fabric as I don't always have the best light) but I think it looks fine and will look even better when I go around the edges to smooth them out in a few places.

The pattern is quite a good one if you start in the middle as I did, not far from the chin - the ruff is quite confetti heavy but the face isn't so you can pick a side to work on depending on your mood.

This progress shows three pages vertically (I'm just on the borders between them at the moment) and 6 pages wide at the bottom (I've cut it off rather, the pattern is 8.5 pages wide).

Hi Dor, and welcome to GK! Wow, she's a beauty, and I can well imagine the confetti in her ruff! I just took a quick look at the full chart - there's going to be lovely detail in her hair and dress also. You're making wonderful progress! Consider joining in our Stitch-Alongs (SALs) that we hold Friday - Monday each week. The current SAL is an extended one going right through until April 2. They're lots of fun and great motivators. If you have any questions, just ask.

Hello Dor, this is beautiful! It looks like you have a lot of colour change in her clothes. The details are amazing. Look forward to seeing more progress.
