ID:	7835I've started another Golden Kite! This one is enormous! Because of that, I'm cropping the design to take out the top two rows (36 pages!), which are exclusively background. Ain't nobody got time for that much background. The piece will still be 900 stitches wide by 493 stitches tall, which is 443,700 total stitches.

I'm stitching this on 28ct Ivory Lugana, 2 over 1 half stitch, which I'm hoping will speed it up a bit.

Here is my progress the first week I worked on it - I've completed the first column of page 37 (my page 1).

Oh my goodness Sarah, I don't know anyone else with your ambition! Is this number five or six that you're working on? The amount that you're not stitching is about twice the size of my whole piece! Good decision on your part. You've made a great start, with lots of different colours already.

Sarah, that's a beauty your are stitching. And you are off to a good start. I like the half stitch you are doing. And nobody will miss that upperpart you left out. Wise decision.

Thanks, everyone! These large projects are really just for the fun of stitching them. The likelihood that I'll actually finish some of these is slim, but I'll probably finish the smaller ones and at least have fun with what I'm able to get to on the others. I don't feel like buying any more large charts at the moment, but I do have a few more patterns already that will likely be started before too long.
