I've got sort of a dilemma. We're going on a road trip starting Friday for 3 - 4 weeks. Peter sits on the Board of a Salmon Association and they have meetings in Freeport, Maine on the weekend, so we'll continue south afterwards, ending up in South Carolina for golf. It's a total of 20 hours driving each way, so we'll do about 7 hours a day. I'm gathering up simple knitting/crocheting projects for the drive, ones that I can do without looking down, but I don't know what to stitch while away. My Mark II frame is quite large to take with me, but it is doable. I can start another project, or I can take Lesbia off the scroll rods and use a Q-Snap. I've found a small clip-on Ott-Lite to take with me, and our local Michael's has some cheap quality stands that might work in a pinch. I have a 50% off coupon, so it will be less than $50. Ahh, decisions, decisions!

if it's comfortably doable for you to take Lesbia I would take her but if not then just take a small project with you that interests you enough to keep you going for 3-4 weeks who needs an excuse to go to Michaels and spend money roll on June 2017 heheheh x

Wendy that should be a wonderful trip for this time a year, hope you have great weather. I would take Lesbia she is not that big, q snap or a lap stand would work good for the time, always nice to look for stuff at Michaels

I'm like the rest. I should take Lesbia with you. Not too big and such a shame if you had to leave her for 4 weeks. Although that roadtrip sounds fantastic!

Thanks girls! I got the stand at Michael's, but I have to put it together and see how it handles the scroll rods. It was only $35 after tax and discount. Abi, it's not a lap stand, but a very, very cheap floor stand. I'll probably only use it when travelling, but after my Cadillac Mark II, this will be somewhat less than an old beat-up Volkswagen!

1.3 pounds at my weigh-in, which is 7.9 in total!
