November Friday - Monday GK and non-GK SAL

Good morning everyone! This week is our SAL for both GK and non-GK projects. Unfortunately, I can't take part in this one, but I will be cheering you all on. Peter is a board member of a group that is holding their semi-annual meeting in Freeport, Maine this weekend, so I have to go with him. It's an eight-hour drive each way and I'm not very fond of road trips. My sea sickness extends to cars too, although not as bad. I'm ok as long as I keep my eyes on the road (I'm a passenger!), so I can't read. I'm taking some simple knitting with me that I hope I can do without looking at it too often. Maine is the US state that borders our province, so I'll have to remember my passport!

    Will anybody be participating?

Me and my cottage are in. I hope your trip goes okay. I'd be fascinated by the scenery, especially if the autumn colours are still there, but I like the houses in that part of the world too. Perhaps they're not all like Jessica Fletcher's house in Murder, She Wrote though.

Thanks girls! Glenda, the seaside towns are very charming, but we'll be inland with only highway driving - not much to see. The leaves are almost all off the trees now, but that wouldn't be anything new for me because we have the same thing here. I'll just knit and talk!

That'll make a nice change for you, Abi.

Pity so many highways have boring scenery, Wendy, but that's the way it is.

I went shopping and bought some zweigart 16 count aida for $20 a metre last night, then they took $10 off for a voucher they sent me so my two metres cost $30. I bought some 18 count as well so I hope my eyes are up to it. I'm not sure why it's marked down so low but I thought I'd better get some in case they're not going to stock it any more. I met another cross stitcher and had a good chin wag with her. It's always nice to talk to other cross stitchers!

I hope you like my latest signature. I'd say Abi is possibly our most faithful stitcher.

I had a magnifier on a stand dropped off at my front door this afternoon. It's only on loan so I can see what it's like. My friend and her husband have one each and he doesn't need his this time of year because he's outside doing stuff. I haven't tried it out yet, except to hold some stitching under it for a quick look.

Glenda love your sig your post should say" Abi the unfaithful " as I feel like binning Gallery today I think I better put it away before I do something drastic

I have a led mag on a floor stand that bends and twists, converts to table stand and generally makes me feel sick. I tried it with glasses no glasses different positions but it didn't help so I hope you get on with yours

Edit... have a lovely weekend everyone

Hope the magnifier works for you Glenda - I love mine!

Abi, you've tried different positions - have you tried different distances, both from your eyes and from your work? I have to have mine in exactly the right spot or I get eyestrain. Luckily the clamp and the gooseneck keep it in that position for me.
