September Friday - Monday GK SAL

Good evening everyone! It's Wednesday evening and I'm announcing our SAL a bit early this week. Tomorrow is surgery day for my daughter and I'll be leaving early to drive to the hospital - a two-hour drive to Fredericton. If all goes well I'll be back home tomorrow evening, although I'll be packed just in case I have to stay overnight. I may have a bit of time to stitch this SAL, but not too much. Will anybody be joining in?

Thank you for your good wishes, ladies! Her surgery lasted for two and a half hours, and then she was in recovery for three and a half hours. It went perfectly, according to the doctor, although she is in quite a bit of pain, with an incision from her breastbone to her navel. Thankfully they didn't have to open her ribcage and the doctor managed to remove her spleen without it rupturing. I came home tonight and will go back tomorrow, rather than stay in a hotel overnight. I like my own bed! Her boyfriend is with her, otherwise I would have been staying there the whole time she is in the hospital.

Wendy - I'm so glad to see that your daughter's surgery went so well. I'm also glad she's in the hospital while she deals with the pain. I'm sure that eases everyone's mind. I hope the pain eases quickly, so she can be released and rest better at home.

Wendy glad the surgery went well.

Not sure if I'm in this time but do plan on starting sometime this sal with my Fishbowl.

Still playing with the idea of stitching her in 14 count instead of 18, the stitch count is 200x 425, what do you all think?

Thank you so much Leslie and Angela! I just returned from a visit. She is very drowsy and drugged, and still in pain, but I'm so glad it's over. Her enlarged spleen was almost the size of a basketball she learned today, so goodness knows when it might have ruptured. We're very grateful that it was discovered.
